Adventure Holidays In Romanian |
The third-largest Eastern European country, Romania is made up of splendid mountains, beautiful rolling hills, fertile plains and numerous rivers and lakes. Bordered on both sides by foothills, the Carpathian Mountains cross the middle of the country before ending in the great plains of the outer rim. One quarter of the country is covered in forests, while the Danube River ends its eight-country journey at the Black Sea . Almost a third of Romania is made up of the Carpathian Mountains , home to the highest peak Modoveanu, which stands at 2544 m. Another third is made up of hills and plateaus, rich with orchards and vineyards; while the final third is a fertile plain, largely devoted to agriculture.
