Scuba diving

Beginner

Scuba diving among underwater gardens filled with exotic fish and colourful corals makes snorkelling a heady experience. If you're interested in finding out more about snorkelling but don't know where to start, the best way to begin is to enrol on a short course of group or private lessons to see if snorkelling is for you. Many operators offer ‘Discover Scuba Dive’ courses that let you get safely acquainted with scuba diving. If you enjoy your single-visit we strongly recommend that you enrol on a certified diving course.

Intermediate

If you already have a solid foundation in scuba diving, there are many ways you can develop your technique. Most intermediate lessons will include mandatory 'difficulty' dives such as night dives, deep dives and low visibility dives. There is usually an elective element also, such as diving for search and rescue or for photography, giving you the opportunity to hone specific skills that you may be interested in.

Advanced

If you’re an ambitious intermediate or advanced scuba diver striving to break through to the next level, honing your skills with a qualified instructor means you’ll be able to learn about all aspects of safety and expertise in depth. Some dive centres offer an internship for a set fee, where you can complete your training all in one go. If you enjoy scuba diving so much that you’re considering becoming a scuba diving instructor, professional training is mandatory. We recommend that check out the professional training and advice offered by PADI.
